About the Role

Behind every Bitara product is a backend that has to be fast, secure, and rock-solid. As a Backend Developer, you'll design and build the services, APIs, and data layers that power our AI, Web3, and financial infrastructure, handling real traffic and real value in production.

You'll own systems end to end, from database schema to API contract, making pragmatic decisions about performance, reliability, and security. This role is for engineers who love clean architecture and take pride in services that just don't break.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs
  • Model data and optimize queries across SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Integrate with blockchain nodes, third-party financial services, and internal systems
  • Ensure services are secure, observable, well-tested, and production-ready
  • Optimize for performance, reliability, and cost at scale
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and infrastructure teams on end-to-end delivery

Requirements

  • 3+ years building backend services in production
  • Strong proficiency in a modern backend language such as Node.js, Go, Python, or Java
  • Solid experience designing APIs and working with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of authentication, security, caching, and message queues
  • Familiarity with cloud services, containers, and CI/CD workflows
  • Sound judgment on architecture, performance, and reliability trade-offs

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating Web3/blockchain data or fintech APIs
  • Knowledge of event-driven or microservice architectures
  • Exposure to high-throughput, low-latency systems
