About the Role

At Bitara, blockchain is the foundation of everything we build. As a Senior Blockchain Engineer, you'll architect the Layer 1/Layer 2 infrastructure, node systems, and on-chain services that power high-throughput, production-grade Web3 platforms serving institutions and users worldwide.

This is deep, security-first engineering for people who care about consensus, performance, and correctness. You'll make foundational decisions, mentor engineers, and help shape how a serious technology company approaches decentralized infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build Layer 1/Layer 2 infrastructure, node systems, and on-chain services
  • Architect high-throughput, low-latency protocols with production-grade reliability
  • Optimize consensus, networking, and state-management layers for performance and security
  • Lead technical design reviews and set engineering standards across the blockchain stack
  • Collaborate with smart contract, security, and product teams on end-to-end delivery
  • Mentor engineers and drive best practices in distributed-systems development

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering, with significant blockchain or distributed-systems experience
  • Deep understanding of consensus mechanisms, cryptography, and P2P networking
  • Strong proficiency in Rust, Go, or C++ for systems-level development
  • Hands-on experience with L1/L2 architectures, node infrastructure, or protocol development
  • Track record of shipping secure, high-availability production systems
  • Rigorous approach to testing, code review, and security

Nice to Have

  • Contributions to open-source blockchain protocols or clients
  • Experience with EVM internals, rollups, or zero-knowledge systems
  • Familiarity with high-performance networking and low-level optimization
